This website is a non-commercial product of the Partnership for the Preservation of the Primary Forests of Romania – Ion Holban (Bacău, Romania) and Matthias Schickhofer (Vienna, Austria). 

The purpose of this website is to raise awareness in Europe (and beyond) for the outstanding ecological value of Romania's primary and old-growth forests and to contribute to the development / promotion of cautious nature tourism in primary forest areas - as an incentive for the better protection of these unique forests.
