If you don’t want to drive on the long dirt road section to the hamlets ( Dobraia, Prisăcina) we recommend to hike uphill. You can drive on road 67D into Cerna valley (use your private car or arrange a shuttle).

We start the hike upstream from Baile Herculane, at the Dumbrava guesthouse. Here we cross the Cerna river and start the ascent.
The path with the red dot, yellow dot and blue dot leads first through sparse deciduous forest, then along a ridge with magnificent views of the valley, the surrounding ancient cultural landscape and the partly rugged forest mountains. Later we reach the small church in the village of Dobraia (3,8km, 640m). From here we continue on the small gravel road to Dobraia village or Prisăcina (another 4.5 km).
